*Lifeguards have the final authority and reserve the right to ask patrons to leave if any of these rules are not adhered to.

Badges must be worn at all times. If you come to the beach without your badge you will be asked to leave the beach to retrieve them, and you will have to bring your children with you. There is no fishing with poles and hooks in the beach area or off the dock at any time! When fishing from the dam area, there is to be no parking of vehicles along the road. Please park in the usual lodge parking, across from the beach, and walk over. When walking your dog around the lake, make sure to keep them on a leash. No children are allowed on the stationary docks unless they are with a parent or have permission from a lifeguard. Children are able to pass the first rope of the swimming area if they have passed level 2. They are then able to pass the second rope if they passed level 4. This is also under lifeguard discretion because we will not be letting children swim in areas of depth that we feel are not ready for or comfortable with. Children are allowed to go to the floating dock by themselves once they have passed the dock test. This includes being able to swim 50 meters (2 laps) using strong developed freestyle (face in water, not doggy paddle) without stopping. Immediately following the 2 laps, the child must begin treading water for 3 minutes. If they fail, they can retake the test in 2 weeks. Children who have not passed the dock test may go to the floating dock with their parents. However, the rule is 2 children per one parent. You must attend to your children at all times by swimming with them, being in the water if they are jumping off the dock, etc. A floatation device is also suggested to better ensure you and your child’s safety. Once again, this is a situation that is under lifeguard discretion. If you do not have a floatation device and we feel that you child is not being attend to or that he/she needs extra attention to aid in safe swimming, we will ask that you do not bring your child to the dock until you have acquired a floating device for them. We cannot allow lifeguard equipment to be used by patrons on the beach. It is prohibited for patrons to climb onto the lifeguard stand. In order for children to be at the beach by themselves, they must be at least 12 years of age. For someone to be responsible for another child under the age of 12 at the beach, they must be at least 16 years of age.
