Trex Recycling

Category:General

ATTN: All High Crest Lake Residents (Members and Non-Members)!

High Crest Lake is participating in the Trex recycling program!

Our Goal:       To collect 500 pounds or about 40,500 plastic bags and save these items from landfills!

Timing:            July 28th, 2020 – January 28th, 2021

How it Works:

  • White recycling bins will be placed at the following locations:
    • The Cove (by the Gazebo)
    • The Lodge (on the Hearthstone side of the building)
    • The Beach
    • 367 High Crest Drive (top of driveway)
  • Please see the list below of what can be recycled. This list will also be posted on the HCL website at www.highcrestlake.com
  • Make sure all plastic is CLEAN, DRY and FREE OF FOOD PARTICLES

What We Need:

  • We need volunteers to empty these bins once a week and do the following:
    • Put contents in a CLEAR plastic bag
    • Record the weight (a fish or luggage scale can be used) and send the information to Ligiane Anza at ligiane.decarvalho@gmail.com with the subject line “Trex weigh in”
    • Drop the contents at the Home Depot on Rt. 23 in Riverdale (collection bin is inside near the customer service desk)

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER, PLEASE REACH OUT TO LIGIANE AT 215-704-0195

If our goal is met or exceeded, we will receive a Trex bench. But, more importantly, our community will have come together and done something important for our planet!

Please thank our new neighbor Ligiane for spearheading this!
